    You can do the grub thing manually after booting from
    a LiveCD as earlier poster has indicated.
    If you have partition alignment problems, you may
    need to delete all partitions first using QtParted
    from something like Knoppix or Mepis LiveCD.
    You can also try the latest Mepis LiveCD distros,
    they have installer menu/icons with option to install
    the grub which is really handy to quickly fix grub
    problems.

    The windopes itself can be booted from grub with
    following menu entries into /boot/grub/menu.lst file
    (assuming windopes is on the first partition)

    title Windopes 98 at hda1
    rootnoverify (hd0,0)
    chainloader +1
