installing from the hard drive

because my internet connection only works through win2k for now, it
creates a strange situation.

the problem:
getting a USB wireless network adapter to work under linux.

existing OS's and hardware:
win2k & fedora core 2 dual boot. 802.11b SMC 2662W USB network
adapter.

assumption:
the kernel source is required to get the driver working.

solution:
add the kernel source file(s), or just re-install.

the trick:
unknown. don't want to burn cd-roms, my fedora core 2 cd's are
corrupted already and it seems awfully wasteful to burn another five or
so cd's.

question:
can anaconda, or a similar tool, be made to work without cd-roms or
internet access?

thanks,
