The () around the mention of agp make it look like you only mention it
for completeness, and you don't think it's a likely problem.

I have Mandrake 10.0 community on my home machine, which has a SiS 746
chipset and a Radeon 7000 card. It never ran acceptably until I upgraded
to the 2.6.7 kernel. I found out about this in
http://www.rage3d.com/content/articles/atilinuxhowto/
It looks like you have to be a bit careful about what version you have
if you want agp to work, so Kevin should maybe check whether that might
be the problem.
