There is a factor of 10 in mtbf between 20C and 60C ambient. That's all
I can think of.
Of course it's a poisson distribution, so about 2/3 of disks will have
died by the time you get to the mtbf. The distro is asymmetric, with a
long tail, so the few long-lived drives count for a lot in the mean.
The geometric mean would be a little fairer. Think of the mtbf just
as the inverse of the probability of failure per unit time - that's
really what it is, not what you think of it as.

Eh? There is no such thing as disk maintenance - disk monitoring, yes.
But these things are sealed units.
