Mandrake 10.0 Install - Webmin/Shorewall issues.

Hello folks,
Am back here after I thought what would be enough time for Mandrake to
stabilize.
Here's the situation. Installed Mandrake 10.0. Will get 10.1 soon, but
10.0 for now.
I cannot login as root at start-up if I have added any users. If I
created users, those are the only login user accounts available for
start-up time. So I deleted all users, and logged in using the GUI as
root.
Installed Webmin. Upgraded Webmin.
Installed Shorewall 2.2.
All went well.
Created user1A.
Had to login as user1A at start-up. Shorewall did not start, since
.conf file seems to have STARTUP_ENABLED = No. Tried to change to yes,
can't save the file in vi. I know it's silly, but I tried the esc-w.
Did not work.
So tried to start webmin with https://localhost.10000 (It had worked
when I installed it), but now this does not work either.
Is it back to Windows time ?
