Is it possible to make the position of the right margin visible in
    Kwrite or Kate?

In GEdit, there's an option called "Display right margin" which draws a
thin vertical line at column 80, or wherever the word-wrap point is set.
I find this very useful when preparing text files, because I like to
insert the returns manually, rather than using auto-wrap. However, for
various reasons, I prefer Kwrite and Kate to Gedit.

I see that Kwrite and Kedit have and option called "Show static word
wrap marker (if applicable)", but that doesn't do anything even if
static word wrapping is selected. Does anybody know what that option is
supposed to do? Is it a feature yet to be implemented maybe? Or maybe
it's just dysfunctional in the Mandrake 10.1 setup?
