I think (I hope) I'm about ready to move from FC1 to FC2. So, for
starters, I tried upgrading FC1 to FC2 on a pentium2 350MHz 384MB RAM,
two hard drives with 20 and 30 GB respectively, instead of doing a clean
install, hoping to spare myself some tedium. It does seem to be basically
OK; but up2date hangs, and it kept my old yum.conf, which of course points
to FC1 mirrors.
Does someone have a sample yum.conf I can simply copy in and run? I'm
trying to upgrade just because I've been having such uneven success
keeping FC1 updated with yum. (Yes, I tried FC3; it and I are not
ready for one another yet.) I understand synaptic is a good way to go; but
I'd like to have the OS reasonably up to date before I set out to learn
and use something new.
