My bad: I didn't upgrade with yum. I got CDs and did it with them. Now
that I *have* FC2, I would like to tell it once to update itself nightly
-- and have it work. With four machines running FC1, it worked on two and
failed every time on two -- and the error messages were over my head.

But I don't insist on yum. I like it better than up2date, when it works,
because then it's easier, and also works on things that RH has not yet
blessed. Otoh, it seems to take more maintenance than up2date, not less.

I've heard that synaptic is supposed to be good, for instance;
but all I know about it is how to spell it -- and googling it gets >64K
hits, mostly over my head ....
