Thanks for the responses. This is on old Dell server with a standard
10BT nic card. It is connected to a workgroup router for DHCP then a
CISCO router for a T1 WAN connection. I am used to "ping" in
dos/windows but havn't a clue what the equivalent command is in Linux.
I will look at the resolution issues you mentioned.
