Look in the /var/log files (eg /var/log/messages /var/log/daemon,...)
to see if there is a hint.
Note that there may be a problem with the real time clock if ntp uses that
at all. That whole thing has been changed in the 2.6.x kernels, and redhat
may have altered the configs they use for the RTC.
It is basically a mess right now.
