pop3d installation problem in qmail

Hi Friends
  I installed qmail on Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS release 3 (Taroon)
with netqmail-1.05 pack by following the instructions found in
Lifewithqmail.After installing qmail i found that the four service of
qmail were working fine.But after installing pop3d the qmail-smtpd
service is failing.
/service/qmail-send: up (pid 18482) 1832 seconds
/service/qmail-send/log: up (pid 18487) 1832 seconds
/service/qmail-smtpd: up (pid 27532) 1 seconds
/service/qmail-smtpd/log: up (pid 18494) 1832 seconds

also when i found the following error in the services

root 18498 1081 0 11:39 ? 00:00:00
/usr/local/bin/tcpserver -v -R -H -l 0 0 110 /var/qmail/bin/qmail-popup
mydomain /bin/checkpassword /var/qmail/bin/qmail-pop3d Maildir

also i found the following in the /var/log/qmail/smtpd/current log
file as
@40000000429c04972128f1ec tcpserver: fatal: unable to bind: address
already use\
d

Also when i tried sending a mail by mutt i am getting the error as

Error sending message, child exited 127 (Exec error.).

what could be the reason and can anyone help to solve it?
