new install login

Hi folks I just installed redhat 6.0 on an old computer it is the only
thing on that machine .
Whwn i tried to run it the first time it asked for local host login and
password I put in a password when I installed but saw no place for a
login name.
So I reinstalled and still found no place for a login name what did I
do wrong?
