I have this old Pentium II MMX computer, with 1/2gig of ram, running
windoze 98se. The extremely weird thing about that computer is that it
does not want to boot Knoppix or any other OS from cd (other than
win98). It is not that the PC doesn't boot from the CDROM drive, but
that it starts booting it up, i can see the screen where you can give
boot parameters and everything is fine, then when you press enter, it
starts spinning the CD, then it speeds up, and eventually it just
stops, the screen is showing the normal boot-up screen, but you can not
do anything, basically it just freezes. That happens with OpenBSD, RH,
SuSE, Debian, Knoppix, etc.
Do any of you have any idea as to what I should do?
PS. It is not that the PC is too old, because I managed to run Knoppix
3.3 (with KDE 3.4) on a P1 166MHz with 64mb ram.
