My boss gave me a new IBM Thinkpad X40. Unfortunately that's all I get.
It doesn't come with a CDROM, so we've put a USB one on order. However,
I do have a network connection. I'm also a net admin so I can mount
remote Linux drives and Windows drives. It comes pre-installed with Win
XP but I want to format and reinstall completely with Ubuntu 5.04. (I
don't want to dual boot and be tainted by software written by THE
BEAST.)
I'm new to doing this kind of setup without a local CDROM. I only have
a remote CDROM. I do, however, have a USB memory stick, if that will
help.
Can anyone tell me the steps to install this?
P.S. Did you know the default X40 only comes with 30 min. battery life?
For Pete's sake, that sucks.
