ssh session freeze and e1000 driver.

Sometimes ssh sessions freeze when I'm connected to a Redhat Entreprise
Server 4.0. So I've tried to updated e1000 driver and when
I compiled e1000-6.1.16 driver to replace the old one the new size of
this driver e1000.ko is about 800kb and the old size was 80kb ?
Is it ok or do I need to compile it with parameters ?
