Could swap space be shared among different linux distributions?

Hi all,

I want to setup a server running Redhat AS, SuSE Server 9 and Debian
(multiboot). I wonder if I can use only one linux swap partition
instead of three.

Could each distribution be safe if the temp data on swap partition be
overwritten by other distribution?
