Judging from the error message you are trying to boot from a memory stick
(/dev/ram0). It is probably a USB device and you don't have USB compiled
into the kernel, but have it loaded as a module. You can read the stick
when you boot from the harddrive, because here it loads a module to read
USB devices. But that is done after booting.
You need to recompile your kernel to read the boot device without loading
a module.
