sound card not working on FC4

I'm posting this from work right now (lunchbreak), so I don't have the
exact error messages on me.

This is the sound card I've got:

The install CD does have a .c file and a makefile, but following the
directions to get this to compile fails. (Will provide specifics
hopefully later this evening, maybe after taking the kids out
trick-or-treating.)

Also, I don't seem to have a /dev/audio. This cannot possibly be good.
 How do I correct this?
