AFAIK, doze will take the first partition in finds hda1 on your
box, which seems to small and hangs, now what did you expect?

So you can think what is faster, fiddling with the partitions,
you don't need /boot on halfway recent hardware, put it on /hda3.
Make a backup of anything you want to keep before starting. Or
just start over with installing doze and reinstalling Linux?
