problem with GnomeMeeting

Hello, all.
I've been trying to get GnomeMeeting 1.0.2 to work.
A couple of nights ago I got everything set up: video & audio devices
working, and registered to get a callto: address with ils.seconix.com then
asked a few family members to do something similar.
Then, today I tried to connect to the ILS and found I couldn't get a list
of other registered users. Try as I might, I could not get GnomeMeeting to
register me with ils.seconix.com.
I made sure that "Enable registering" and "Publish my details" were
checked in the preferences, but to no avail.
I tried downloading a more recent version of GnomeMeeting, but that just
threw up dependency problems (I needed a more recent libldap and liblber,
but upgrading those broke other things...).
Am I missing something really obvious (like ils.seconix.com being broken)?
