Thanks for all your replies! Yeah, who ever set this server up really
wanted to piss the next administrator off. The current administrator
only knows one command: adduser. I've got a lot of work ahead of me.
So I will take out the lines in the /etc/hosts file. I didn't want to
mess with DNS, but now I see I'll have to. I can add the lines to the
/var/named/tbc.to. They use squirrelmail for webmail so I'll have to
tweak the address where it sits? Right now it's at tbc.to/webmail. Or
will the DNS you describe above do it (tbc.to MX
mail.tbc.to)? I'm sorry.... I'm still learning.
Also, they have a Windows2003 server in the mix. I have no idea why
because it has the default group policy in place. I'll have to ask
them why it's there. I've used Windows2003 server a little so I'll
look into setting up that machine too.
To answer your question tbc.to using sendmail.
I'll also add a record into the /etc/resolv.conf to make tbc.to to
search.
Oh, I almost forgot. Once I update the DNS record how to I get DNS to
use the new record? Restarting the service won't do it.... thanks
again.
