Does it mean it prints locally?
Then i managed to install the printer on my Win XP machine as a network
printer using the following URL:
http://192.168.1.77:631/printers/canon-mp150
However when i try to print from the windows client, the document is
put in the Win XP queue - i can see the status changing to 'spooling'
then 'Error' but i have no detail on the error so i don't know why it's
failing.
Any idea what's wrong?
1) is cupsd running on the linux server? netstat -atn | grep :631 ?
2) Any trace of the access attempts in /var/log/cups/access_log ?
3) Any trace of the printing attempts in /var/log/cups/error_log ?
4) Have you checked the event-log in Windows Xp? (control-panel, ...
dont' remember the steps :( )
5) I have never quite understood what kind of services cups offers
as a server. I wonder if you need to export the printer using
samba, to make it accessible from Windows Xp. If so, you may well
have to remove the ":631" part of the printer url.
