you are right about the failures...I used the first option and had to
manually intervine since fsck failed on a disk and a ctrl-D was
required to continue booting...so it wasn't very useful for what I was
trying to do....
does anyone know of any mechanism to ensure a system gets booted when
testing new kernels etc.
