This board has both SATA and IDE disc connectors. If you are using
only IDE, then the installation of any distro will be by the book. The
thread above shows the board will work with SATA, too.
"Instructions made of steel wire" is an expression which I'm not familiar
with. The documentation for all of the major distributions is very
mature and well done at this point. You can review the instructions for
the distribution of your choice at your leisure.
