And a small note for you: the identification of SATA drives, depending on
the controller and your particular distribution, may be as "/dev/hd*" type
devices like IDE drives on some older kernels, or "/dev/sd*" devices or SCSI
like devices on newer kernels. Simply upgrading the kernel within a
distribution can also cause this to occur, and it'll drive you bugfutz if
you run into it. So I urge you to use the most recent stable kernel and
distribution you can, so this doesn't happen down the road and make your
life very difficult.
