Then install a network card driver for your NIC, configure an IP address
and static routing for it, and go. Whassa problem? It's only a
question of modprobe foo; ifconfig eth0 bar; route add default gw gum.

Ditto sound. Turn up your mixer settings or install a driver. No need
to make a mountain out of a molehill.
