Then it's probably not running. You can do "ps auxwww | grep -i vnc" to see
if there's a VNC related process. (I'm pretty familiar with VNC, I wrote one
of the first SunOS ports of it years ago.)
VNC usually is associated with specific users, and is run owned by them with
login configurations in their personal $HOME/.vnc directory. There should be
some logs there associated with any attempt to run it: check them out.
