Check the ALSA hardware compatibility matrix:
http://www.alsa-project.org/alsa-doc/index.php?vendor=All#matrix

Just find the brand and product model and it should tell you if it is
compatible or not. I noticed the USB Sound Blaster Audigy 2 NX was listed
as compatible.

Since ALSA is included in the 2.6.x series of kernels, you should have no
problems with Fedora Core.

The ALSA website also states:
All USB devices that are standards compliant will work.
