I want to download a FC4 release. I have three options for download from a web:Can install without a DVD drive.
Fedora Core 4 Release binary iso images for i386.
Fedora Core 4 Release source iso images for i386.
Fedora Core 4 Release DVD iso image for i386.
What are the differences and advanatges of the three types of downloads:
binary iso images
DVD iso imageThere was an issue with DVD install on some machines, it works with a trick I don't remember.
source iso imagesUnless you want to "roll your own" distribution, forget this for now.
And what you didn't ask, FC4 is stable, I've had problems installing FC5 on about half the machines I tried. I believe it involves the ACPI code, but frankly don't have a need to be cutting edge on stable machines. As a new user FC4 *may* be a smoother path to a working system.
