I have 2 linux VMs running under VM ware, one is RedHat 9, one is
Fedora
Both are set up to synchronise with a NTP server and both have the
same time zone.
The Redhat box is fine, however the Fedora box always seems to revert
to a time about 8 hours in advance.
Any idea why?
See if there's any correlation between when the machine is off and how
much time it loses. If they're the same, you probably need to replace
the CMOS battery - it's wouldn't have enough juice to keep the time
ticking over when the computers off - that happens when they die.
