Slow Keyboard Response

Hi,
I've never faced this before... just installed RH9.0, and, I find that the
keyboard response is really slow. It seems to be somthing to do with the way
keyboard events are "scanned," because, I see that some of the charaters
gets missed out if I type anything at normal speeds. I need to wait for a
second or two to see the character being echoed, and, only then should I
type in the next character - which is a kind of getting painful.

Anybody faced this problem before?
