The system is not loaded to that extent, and it has 128MB RAM. I have
not tried to test this on the console without having X running - but,
do you think this makes a big difference?
Definitely try that - just to eliminate some possibilities if nothing
else (bad or wrong video driver for example). Also you *do* have a
swapfile right?. What is the processor and speed of this machine? How is
the keyboard connected up? USB maybe? What harware other than internal
cdrom/hard/floppy drives, video card, sound card is connected to that
machine (including both internally and externally)?
