Hi,

Sorry, but I can't help you with this problem, as I am unfamiliar with
both the wireless card you selected and the driver you downloaded.
P'haps someone who /is/ familiar with driver installs under your system
will respond.

*P.S I would also like to ask for any good ways to learn Linux for an
absolute newbies like me...

There are many ways to learn Linux, some of them easier than others,
depending on your point of view.

Personally, I "play" with the system, reading about various tools and
system concepts, and then manipulating my system so that I get first
hand knowledge of what happens and how it works. This isn't the best
technique for everybody, but if you want to follow through on it, I'd
suggest using one of those "live boot" CD linux sytems (say, the Ubuntu
or Knoppix live boot CDs) to try things out with.

A more popular way to learn Linux is to join a group of other Linux
users, and ask questions. These groups (typically called "LUGs", or
"Linux User Groups") can be found almost everywhere. You can check out
the list of LUGs at http://www.linux.org/groups/ to find one in your
area. I belong to a "virtual" LUG that's run by an author friend of
mine. It is accessable through the web, email, and IRC, and can be
found at http://www.marcelgagne.com/wftllugform.html The author and
host of the WFTL-LUG is Marcel Gagne, author of many and various books
and articles on Linux.

Speaking of books and articles, you can start reading. The Linux
Gazette (http://www.linuxgazette.org/) has numerous articles written
for both newbie and experienced Linux user. There are piles of HOWTO
information at the Linux Documentation Project (http://tldp.org/), and
many of the Linux magazines have online versions for your pleasure. You
can subscribe to the paper versions of these magazines as well; they
often address "newbie" issues along with the usual Linux fare. Finally,
you can read books; there are a ton of Linux books out there aimed at
the newbie user. If I may plug one such book, you should pick up a copy
of "Moving to Linux - Kiss the Blue Screen of Death Goodbye" by Marcel
Gagne (available in it's 2nd edition in fine bookstores everywhere).
Marcel has written a number of books aimed at the newbie audience, so
if M2L-KtBSoDG doesn't suit you, there are plenty of other titles that
will.

Finally, you can cruise the usenet newsgroups, like you have. We answer
questions here, and we are (mostly) helpful to newbies. the
comp.os.linux.* and alt.os.linux.* newsgroups are pretty good for
helping people get through their Linux issues, but the turnaround can
be slower than going to your local LUG.

That's about it.
