Someone suggested you had a dodgy CD (ie. that the libpcap package itWell I have downloaded the iso again and burnt it slowly still now joy.
was looking for was supposed to be on the CD, but was corrupted). To
check this, boot from the CD and type 'expert' at the prompt, starting
the install in expert mode. You will see a menu option to "check CD-ROM
integrity". If it passes that check, then you know the CD is ok (and it
means it was trying to d/l the package from a mirror, as I said
earlier).
I have however installed Kubuntu 5.1 Breezy Badger?
Life is sweet, internet access and understaninding the lack of root login.
Win Xp is still here on my box, but that is only in use until i figure out how Wine works and how to get Diablo II running under linux.
