Understood. Have you tried using Wine? It doesn't run all
Windows apps perfectly yet, but it might help.
He tried wine but couldn't get it to work easily.
Also Vmware..and that did run tow out the 4 apps.
I am probably going to solve the problem by retaining the win98 machine for those apps which it only can run - mainly 'hobby' stuff..heavy graphics and obscure programs.. and switch to X-windows for everything else.
