I have not been able to burn a good iso for about a month.
Using 2 different machines and 2 different OS's still no good cd's or
dvd's
Before you even bother to burn a cd, you should be able to check the md5
checksums of the .iso files. If that fails, the CDs will be bad. If that
fails, it is an indication that the download is bad. That could be for any
number of reasons: bad Internet connection, defective modem, memory problems
on your computer, hard drive problems, etc.
If the .iso is good on your machine(s), then check the md5 checksum of the
burned CD to see if it is OK. If not, then it did not burn correctly. Check
out your hardware and software and the quality of your blank CD-R or CD-RW
disks. I suggest practicing with a CD-RW unless you have a good use for
coasters with a hole in the middle. I suppose you could be getting 4x CD
blanks from a discount house and trying to burn them at 10x or above. This
does not normally work.
Occasionally, people do not know how to burn a .iso and burn it as a file
onto a disk, getting a .iso within a .iso and that is probably useless.
I have tried bittorent and normal downloads. also tried different
distro's still no luck.
any ideas???
