Here in comp.os.linux.setup,
Alan Adams <alan.adams@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> spake unto us, saying:
SCSI disks generally last longer, but I don't have the experience to
suggest how much.
I have several boxes here with SCSI disks. A few of the disks are
between 8-10 years old at this point, and all have been running 24x7.
I've only had one SCSI disk fail (a very old 3.8GB 5.25" Full Height
Sequel (DEC OEM) drive drive that ran very hot), and I have 11 other
SCSI disks which are 5 years old or more and which are healthy as far
as I can tell (including the 10-year-old 2GB Seagate ST32155N and the
pair of 8-year-old 6.4GB Quantum Bigfoot drives in this Micron box).
