Hello,Now I think about it, I do not see the configure network config screen
Have just installed centos 2.1 (which is a clone of RH 2.1 AS BTW) on a
hpdx2000 MT ie intel 2.8GHz, full install KDE and Gnome.
Sadly it boots up a bit and then hangs:
INIT :Switching to runlevel: 3
Starting irqbalance [OK]
Starting automount: No Automounts defined [OK}
Starting lpd: No Printers Defined [OK}
<now it hangs>.
If I reboot and choose single user it comes up OK.
init 2 that's OK
init 5 and it hangs at
Starting lpd: No Printers Defined [OK}
Installed the same on another identical box, just to check.
This one seems to get a bit further
Starting irqbalance [OK]
Starting automount: No Automounts defined [OK}
Starting lpd: No Printers Defined [OK}
Starting atd [OK]
Then it hangs!
The Graphics card is Intel 82865G which is quite modern and I guess not
supported.
Can live, I think, without a GUI.
Need a network connection however.
Network cards are 3ComEtherlink XL10/100 PCI 3C905C-TX.
ifconfig reveals only loopback.
What should I do next, please? Need to get this sorted for 6 boxes very
urgently.
TIA
Ton
whilst installing...
dmesg | less
...
PCI: using configuration type 1
Probing PCI Hardware
Unknown bridge resource 2: assuming transparent
isapnp: scanning fot pnp cards
isapnp: No plug and play found
Linux NET4.0 for linux 2.4
Initialising RT netlink socket
Oh Dear! cant see anything about a 3Com network card....
