Anyway.

Open a terminal window and su to root and do this

tempest:~# route -n

you should see something like what is below, and provided that the router is connected to a valid live DSL session and you have set it to do NAT then all should work,

Kernel IP routing table
Destination Gateway Genmask Flags Metric Ref Use Iface
192.168.0.0 0.0.0.0 255.255.255.0 U 0 0 0 eth0
0.0.0.0 192.168.0.254 0.0.0.0 UG 0 0 0 eth0

If the entry for 0.0.0.0 is missing you need to add the default route.
You may also need to set up /etc/resolv.conf to add in some useable DNS servers.
