I am aware of Synaptic. Still, it's no use if I don't have an internet
connection available in Kubuntu (I am writing from another computer
right now). That's why I do everything manually.

I wonder what those package managers do when there's a probem with
confliting packages. I thought I could be able to manually 'reproduce'
what the managers would normally do.
