Came an error message acknowledging a bug.
I installed FC4, 6 and 7 without a hitch. I installed at least five versions of RedHat without a hitch except for the first time when I chose to manually configure the ethernet connection. I fixed that by reinstalling and letting the install disk take care of the ethernet configuration.
I sent in a substantiating bug, was told it had been reported, they
knew, and nothing more.
So I skipped back to Fedora 5. No problem with install but I cant get
an internet connection. The configure screen shows eth0 to be
inactive but doesnt respond by changing it. So I humbly go back to XP
which I left on the deck, and send you all this request for
clarification. What gives?
These problems usually appear on new model laptops as they do a lot of non-standard things to get all ten pounds into the sock. It takes time for the software to catch up with it.

If foreign troops were running loose in the US Americans would be killing
them. I have no idea why Americans are pissed when Iraqis do the same thing.
