Hi,
I have FC5 and I'd like to upgrade. I have downloaded the FC8 and made
a DVD. When I reboot my laptop to start installation, it cannot
recognize the FC8 DVD and fails to start with that so in contiunes
with the old OS that I had. What' s wrong? is it related to FC8 or my
computer?

Maybe there is something wrong with you DVD or you image file. What is
the output message when you failed.
Actually it doesnt give any message. It says just ''boot from optical
drive...'' (as it's supposed) and then after few seconds goes to the
original dual boot manager which I could choos between Windows or
Linux. so in somehow, it simply ignors DVD !
oh, I see. I think you DVD is OK. you should set the BIOS, choose
first boot from cd
.
