You mean "Does linux have a cryptic, fragile, incomprehensible system
for storing preferences, system configuration options, worms, viruses,

entire computer utterly useless?"  If so, then no.

Chortle. I also support AIX boxes with the ODM. Storing configs
in a database is not all that bad an idea if you publish the detailed
specs of the database and encourage everyone else to use it. Oh
right, neither MS nor IBM did that ...
