Sounds SuSE-specific. Maybe they are loading a funny keymap? Alot of
things could cause this, also depends on if you're under X11 or are on
the console. What keymap are you using, if any? What font? What
locale? What is the kernel using for NLS (CONFIG_NLS_ISO8859_* and so
on)? Any weird shell key bindings in shell login files? Have a look at
keymaps(5) and go from there. There's too many variables to say
definately what is causing it.
