Thanks for the input.
I thought over running 2 X servers. But as you said, one cannot move apps
between them. The sharing of devices can we fixed in a dirty way. I was
hoping to hack Xerver to make it kind of slave X which displays only one
virtual desktop. This would solve the problem of moving apps between
desktops and sharing of devices. I guess I am being to ambitious. But only
way to find it out is to know how things work and fit together.
I do understand (at least I think) the function of X , xdm, the conf and
scripts but dont have an authoritative knowledge. I believe your overview
will be helpful in filling gaps and making things clearer.
If you or someone would write it down then I can promise to put it up on my
web server for everyone else.
