RedHat has never included the official closed source drivers for nVidia cards.
The only nvidia compatible driver that has and still are included is the
nv-driver from Xfree86. With the policy that RedHat has, it will never be
included in the Redhat distro, unless nVidia releases the whole driver as GPL.

Edit the /etc/X11/XF86Config by hand, as you have run the "configuration"
tool, you are most likely using a quite generic driver which are used for the
newer nVidia cards by XFree86. Change to 'nv' or 'nvdriver' (requiers the
official nvidia driver is installed). Don't forget that just installing the
official nVidia driver won't change your XFree86 settings and using a
configuration tool to configure the settings WON'T use the 'nvdriver', but one
of the drivers included in XFree86.

No, you bang your head against the wall for using the configuration tool
instead of editing the file by hand, read the nVidia documentation
http://www.nvidia.com/object/LO_20030328_6790.html

Card is supported by the general driver that is supplied by XFree86, so you
can't yell at RedHat nor XFree86.
