Problems with transparent console

I have a Debian 3.0 with XFree86 4.1, installed from the cd of the
latest stable woody.
When I run the KDE Konsole and I select the option for transparency,
Konsole gives a segmentation fault. So I installed Blackbox and aterm,
but when I launch aterm -tr the transparency doesn't work. The same
thing happens with Eterm (anyway, they don't give a segmentation
fault).
Any ideas? It could be a problem of my X server?
