WindowMaker with gnome 2.2 panel or xfce4 panel

Hello,

I plan to install windowmaker but I need a panel. I wonder which is
better: gnome 2.2 or xfce4.

If I want to use gnome panel, wil I need to install all the gnome
library and dependencies? There are a lot less for the xfce4 panel.
