X Crash when autologout

Hello,

My OS is debian 3.0 with kernel 2.4.20 and Intel i830 graphic card.
When booting, no problem for X to start with gdm.
After 20mins of inactivity, gdm auto-logout, then black screen.
I use a term to kill all tmp-files and tasks.
I restart X and black screen again...
I must reboot...

Something got a solution ?
