I did a Google search for this problem and didn't find anything so I'm
posting here. I'm kind of new to Linux and never have setup my own system
(company would not allow us to install our own stuff), I never understood
the problems with configuring the graphics. I'm trying to install RH 7.3
with 2.4.18-3 on a P3-733 system with a ATI RAGE128GL (AGP) card with a Dell
2000FP display (20" flat panel 1600x1200). The system will not autostart
the GUI so when I attempt to "startx" I see a number of lines streaming past
the display and the last thing I see is this:

If the server is older than 6-12 months, or if your card is
newer than the above date, look for a newer version before
        reporting problems. (See http://www.XFree86.Org/)

the full server output, not just the last messages.
This can be found in the log file "/var/log/XFree86.0.log".
Please report problems to xfree86@xfree86.org.

I'm at a loss as to how to proceed with this problem. When I installed the
OS, I could not find an equivalent monitor in the list so I used, what I
think is close, the Dell D2026T monitor with "1024x768". I don't think the
timing will be outside the monitor's capabilities but if anyone knows of the
correct timings for the 2000FP please let me know.

TIA,
Ken Erickson
